I want to be able to believe that someone/something is helping me protect someone whom I care very deeply about. I'm unitarian universalist, but I haven't really found a specific religion or belief system that works for me. I need someone with whom I can talk about my concerns, but I'm at a bit of a loss. Does anyone have a suggestion? I would prefer to talk with someone who is UU, but it isn't essential.
Again, please refrain from posting any comments about how if I don't believe in %26lt;insert deity here%26gt; that I'm going to get %26lt;insert your religion's punishment here%26gt;. I'm not interested in condemnation, only advice.I need spiritual advice without judgment or persuasion. Suggestions?
I'm Wiccan/UU... remember the 7th principle... we're all part of the interconnected web. Just as you can touch this person in your life you are trying to help, you can draw help from others-- your UU community, a Higher Power. You're not alone.I need spiritual advice without judgment or persuasion. Suggestions?
If you have friends, consider their experiences regarding similar situations. If you want to feel more certain about the decisions you're making, you would first have to convince yourself of something you don't really believe in. If you can learn to be confident in yourself and find friends you can put faith in, you will realize that belief in something supernatural would have only served as a convenient substitute for the hope and feeling of purpose you can acquire naturally, through your own personal convictions and motivations. When in doubt, help yourself.
Is life about counting the hours that pass or making the hours that pass count? The best thing you could ever believe in is yourself.
well, R%26amp;S isn't exactly the best place to look for that, but I'd try finding a Unitarian Universalist Church or at least a website with a discussion board with others who share the same faith. You could do research on other religions, or if all else fails, don't be so worried about being a part of any organized religion, just have and keep your own beliefs in whatever feels right to you.
Good Luck. :)
you said: ';I haven't really found a specific religion or belief system that works for me.';
is that how you determine what is truth..if it works for you? All the religions or beliefs, even those that contradict eachother cant all be truth...so wich one is....the one that ';works for you';
If you want to know where to get advice regarding religions may i suggest :
carm.org
I understand you because I've been in the same position. Right now, you don't need religion, you need JESUS! He is the best psychologist that you can talk to. I don't know you, your friends don't know you that perfectly, but God knows everything because He created you! He know every piece of you! Isn't amassing! WOW! To get to know God I would recommend reading the Bible which will help you to get to know more about God and who He is! I do understand what you are going throe.... the way our is Jesus and the stying of the Word of God! God bless!!
No judgment here. I'm Baha'i. Baha'i and Unitarians have a lot in common. Believe whatever you want. When you say someone do you mean an angel or God. We are all being protected. It makes sence too that the ones we love and love us do not stop loving us once they've moved on. maybe thats not what iyou are talking about. Good luck with finding what you are looking for.
I'd suggest having a look at BeliefNet's ';Belief-o-Matic'; quiz. It's a silly name, but it's a good quiz that might help you determine what organized belief/religion best fits you. At the very least, it's interesting, and doesn't cost a thing :-)
I read some books about animal telepathy...I know it may sound weird, but they actually really helped me. Here are a couple links to books on amazon that I've read:
http://www.amazon.com/Animal-Talk-Inters鈥?/a>
http://www.amazon.com/Behaving-God-All-L鈥?/a>
These books aren't affiliated with any religion, but they are about spirituality and meditation. I recommend reading them.
there are christian science churches or probably groups of people like you. my mom has a friend who is unitarian universalist who goes to one of those churches. then you can get into a support group.
Remember, religion is a way of control, but beliefs are what your heart and your mind tells you. If you don麓t find any religion, don麓t get upset, look at the bright side all the time.
I am not UU, but would be willing to talk with you. I am a Christian but will listen to your concerns and help any way that I can. Feel free to e-mail me. Hope all works out for you!
The BIBLE is what you need. It is not only spiritual, it is also educational. It is the most read book. It will tell you that THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.
Try a priest or pastor. If you feel his or her answer is unhelpful try a different denomination.
I'd seek out your local UU congregation and chat up someone there. Perhaps one of the ministers/leaders.
Have you looked for any UU discussion boards? That may help.
Talk to your local CUUPS members.
Hi. I'm not UU but I completely agree with the UU approach to religion and spirituality and so I am UU, just not officially. I won't tell you what you should believe because I only know what I should believe and you are the only one who knows what you should believe. Sounds like you already do. Someone is watching over this person you care so much for. If you want to be sure of that, I can help you there. I am a practicing Witch and I do protection rituals for people in need. If you want some help, I can help you. I can even help you find a specific spirit/angel to watch your friend. If that's not what you're looking for, then I'm sure the Divine will send you exactly what you need if It hasn't already. Email me: ybennoach@gmail.com
I pray to God(I'm a Christian), my friend prays to Allah(she's Muslim), my dad is catholic and two of my friends are Buddhist. I guess you could do some research or talk to someone about how they feel about what they believe in. Personally, God makes me feel safe. Whenever I read the Bible I get this feeling of protection and assurance that's really hard to explain. But, I'm not a biased hard-core worshiper like my neighbor who yelled and called me satanic when I was six and gave her a ghost made out of tissue on Halloween. Anyway, I hope you find something you can commit to.
