I am now asking a more personal question. I'm 19 and in college. I attend service when possible, and I try to maintain a good connection with the Lord. I consider myself clean (Vegetarian, no smoking/drinking) and I help others as much as possible for an Engineering student. ;)
My question is this: As some of you already know, being in college is quite stressful. I enjoy sexual relations with my boyfriend to alleviate this. He is just as clean as I, and he has no other partners. Neither of us have ever had sex with anyone else. (We have been together for 2 years). How would the bible view this situation? I'm not looking to rationalize anything.
NOTE: I am aware that adultery is listed as a sin under the ten commandments, but what many of you don't seem to realize is that adultery refers to a MARRIED man/woman having sex with another man/woman, or cheating, in other words. Having sex with a unmarried man in a committed relationship cannot be considered adultery.Spiritual advice please. Sex with one partner, no promiscuity. How does the Bible view this?
Monogamous sexual relationships are healthy. But for gods sake, whatever you do, and whoever else you listen to, get on birth control. The life it saves will be yours.Spiritual advice please. Sex with one partner, no promiscuity. How does the Bible view this?
what u r doing is called fornication........
Adultery . . . . . =%26gt; Illicit intimate sex between one man and one woman whereby the offender (the Adulterer) is currently Married.
Fornication . . =%26gt; Illicit intimate sex between one man and one woman whereby the offender (the Fornicator) is currently NOT married.
see....1 corinthians 7:2
Your situation falls under the category of fornication. Fornication is committing adultery against your future husband.
You can't commit adultery until you're 21 legally.
since you are not married, there are no guarantees that you WILL get married (not judging your relationship, just stating facts). if either of you marries someone else, that means your sexual relationship was adultery. that's why God wants us to wait until we are legally married. it saves us a lot of potential grief. (God's ';rules'; are always for our benefit.) i'm glad you guys are being safe and faithful to each other. but there are plenty of other ways to alleviate stress, and sex is always better saved until marriage anyway because then you don't get tired of it so fast :P anyway hope this helps.
Adultery is sex with a married person not your marriage mate. Fornication is sex between single people. Both are condemned in the Bible. I Corinthians 6:9: ';What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God's kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators...nor adulterers will inherit God's Kingdom.';
1 Corinthians 6:18 ';Flee from fornication.';
Galatians 5:19 ';The works of the flesh are fornication....';
1 Thessalonians 4:3 ';God wills that you abstain from fornication.'; Breaking God's law on fornication can result in a guilty conscience, loss of self respect, sexual diseases, unwanted pregnancies, etc. That's why it is always the wise course to follow God's laws and principles.
