It is called 'rent seeking' and the AMA managed to get everyone barred, but themselves, so they have a monopoly on the trade. Separation of church and state has spared us the Parallel in religion for the moment. I feel abused that I can't go to a vet for medical advice.Why is the Medical profession strictly regulated, but any fool with a Bible can dispense 'spiritual advice'?
Because you have free will and you can use it to either listen to those ';fools with a Bible'; or not, but you can't afford to do that in a hospital. If a doctor tells you that you have that disease and you have to take that pill, he'd/she'd better be right!
You're not likely to die because of something somebody says to you. You are likely to die if somebody does something wrong to you
Because an overdose of medicine can kill you, but an overdose of God will give you eternal life.
I find it interesting that they can advise on marriage but many are not allowed to be married themselves
Because spiritual fools are untouchable and difficult to get rid of.
