I need some serious spiritual advice on this one. ATHEISTS/AGNOSTICS welcome?

I'm thinking of deleting my Yahoo! Answers account, losing touch with ALL of my Fans permanently, and just starting over in real life.





Heck, I want to literally limit the amount of time I spend on the computer, and resolve to not meet new people online anymore.





Do you think it's a good idea?

hhmm well its always sad when soemone leaves, but if its to live their life and be happy, its not so sad

theres NOTHING wrong with meeting new people this way,


this is how we do it now, this is the life we all live, its the way of the modern world


you cant feel thats somehow inferior to 'real' life, because real life, suks major sometiems and its not this easy to meet and chat to people as it is here


we humans have a lot of social needs and they are being fulfilled here, probably better than we can do in reall life sometimes





of course you should never let it become your life, and replace your life, but its an addition, and there is nothing at all wrong in that





theres no reason in the world you have to completely leave and never speak to anyone again


just limit it, live more and be on here less, you will have made friends, acquaintances here and thats just as important soemtiems are real life friends and acquaintances, its one of the reasons we are all here, to meet people, chat, socialise


and this is a popular way to do it now





it may not be socially ideal or socially acceptable or revered by society, but, that doesnt change that it is useful and helps us all in many ways





go, live your life, but theres no need to never come back online, never talk to those you met on here and actually enjoy talking to





unless, that IS what you want


if thats not what you want, then you dont do it


if it is, then you do





but you will be missed if you decide to leave

But limiting time on the computer isn't necessarily a bad idea. I think it'd be good for me to try something similar since I have more responsibilities now than ever before.





We shouldn't cut ourselves off completely, though. You should come up with some sort of self-imposed quota. You know, like limiting a child to only half an hour of TV per day, limit yourself to... I don't know, an hour or two of frivolity on the computer a day.
If you think it's best, I think you should do it. Deleting your account is a bit rash, you may just want to set your computer off into a lonely corner of the house. You could always get your life in order and then want to spend free time here again, starting all over wouldn't be too fun, just change your profile to tell your fans and that should do it.

well speaking as neither an atheist of agnostic, i would say that is a bloody good decision. real life is so much more fulfilling.
